The Royal College of Art annually hosts a three-day ‘Work in Progress’ exhibition that showcases a selection of second year MA students' work. It is an opportunity for students to test and develop their projects for the upcoming summer degree show. The aim was to challenge the essence of a visual identity by questioning the idea of a design team creating a visual identity for an interdisciplinary cohort of students. A modular toolkit laser cut from 3mm perspex was used by RCA students and staff across the College’s three campuses to generate a collection of glyphs that informed the design of the show’s visual identity.
